ABOUT RANCH ROSE
Originally granted to Edward Miles, as payment for his military service to The Republic of Texas, the land has changed hands and size over the years. But the ranch has persevered in our family since Jim Rose purchased it in the 1950’s.
The family today works to preserve and grow the ranch’s agricultural operations for future generations. Its historic homes, barns, and centuries-old oaks and cypress still stand watch over the Guadalupe River that once was home to Native Americans. What began as a working ranch and feedlot has evolved by blending tradition with new opportunities.
Today, Ranch Rose runs sheep and keeps livestock, we hunt the land and cultivate crops of hay and Malbec grapes. All of these are intentional and play a role in family recipes like hand-crafted sausage, pork, and jelly alongside estate-grown wines from our vineyard, established in 2014.
Every bottle of Ranch Rose Wine is 100% Texas Hill Country grapes, hand-harvested, and small-batch crafted from our 4.2 acres of vines.
Ranch Rose is the tried and true story of real Texas ranches. Every oak, the sharp and weathered barbed wire, every river bend, and every weathered building a cherished relic of a time gone, and a symbol of hope for the future.
As the next generation takes the lead, they continue to steward the land and livestock with the same care and determination as
those before them.

RANCH ROSE WINE
In 2014, Don (Grandpa) anticipated the need to diversify agricultural income at the ranch. After much
study and a belief that the budding Texas wine industry would succeed, he resolved to start our 4 acre Malbec vineyard. Three years after the vineyard build, Bending Branch Winery purchased the first lot of grapes from Ranch Rose. That vintage, small may it have been, was evidence enough that Grandpa knew what he was doing as a vintner.
After a decade of incredible productions, hand-harvested each time, Ranch Rose Vineyard is now known for the best canopy and highest quality Malbec grapes in the Texas Hill Country.
In 2024, Grandpa and Susan (Yita), and son Dakota decided to embark on the exciting new venture of a Ranch Rose wine label. And so, Ranch Rose Wines was berthed. Immediately, the 2024 Dolly Rosé, our first ever Malbec Rosé, named after Susan’s larger-than-life mother, Dolly Rose, was a hit.
Come see our beautifully crafted bottles, taste every vintage. But more importantly, read the stories and soak up the rich history and legacy of Ranch Rose. We pride ourselves on small batches, crafted to perfection. So fill your wine case when you can, because Ranch Rose Wines will always be a limited production.

“I can’t wait to go back!!!”
"Looking forward to our 4th return from Austin with our 2 adult kids and Labrador. We look forward to more time on the river!"
"Truly - I think you guys have created an exceptional Rose. Layers of fruit taste throughout, but not too sweet or heavy feeling. I think you have a hit on your hands!"
“The daily walks to the river were great. Fishing with the kids was awesome, and the ladies even got out to Fredericksburg for the day.”
“The real winners were our family dogs. I feel like it was a vacation built for them. Running in the fields, playing and swimming in the river, lounging on the enclosed porch, they loved all of it and made it awesome to bring them.”
“Love how close it was to our northeast San Antonio home, but felt so far away and isolated. Will definitely be staying again.”
